ANTI-DISCIPLINARY ARCHITECT, DESIGNER & MAKER

I was born and raised in Lebanon on the family terracotta brick-and-roof tile factory where I grew up immersed in clay, manufacturing and industry ✦ I received my BArch from the American University of Beirut and was three-time apprentice with the late Dame Zaha Hadid in London by the time I graduated in 2014. ✦ My thesis project “In Bed With Space” received the Dean’s Award for Creative Achievement, was nominated for a RIBA President’s Medal, and exhibited at the Ministry of Tourism’s glass hall in Beirut ✦ In 2018 I founded spatial-design and ideation buro MÜLLER APRAHAMIAN alongside Arine Aprahamian (Rolex Protégé 2023) with our first commissioned works for the Tate Modern and the Venice Biennale in the same year. ✦ In 2020 I debuted Visions of the Future (a numbered and limited-edition capsule collection of handcrafted Japanese titanium heirloom-eyepieces) at 100%Optical the UK eyewear fair, and won the NewDesigner award: “for making an instant impact with unique and notable frames, to become the next big international name in frame design.” ✦ Currently I am pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Designed Objects and Ceramics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the recipient of the New Artist Society Scholarship.
