earthdrop, ceramic vessel shaped like a droplet of water but with the texture of the earth. there are two, one in red terracotta nd one in white. the red one is dormant and the other is activated by water, with sprouts growing from its surface.

"The old world is dying. The new one struggles to be born. This is the time of monsters..."

Earthdrop is a retrofuturistic re-imagination of ancient ollas invented in north Africa millenia ago. Born at the beginning of the end, this evolutionary vessel is a critical, poetic object embodying a heritage of craft and cultivation, that communicates our human story through form and material.

Inspired by home and the pressing water crisis, Earthdrop celebrates humankind's oldest technologies of ceramics and agriculture, and uses terrestrial forms to provoke and prepare us for a radical future and return to the earth.

Earthdrop is a primitive-futurism drought technology, a terraforming vessel made from porous, organic-burnout terracotta earthenware slip impregnated with seeds for de-extinction.

Cast from the earth in the shape of a raindrop, the vessels' surface matches the ground, serving as a natural reservoir, both materially and formally indigenous, blending into the landscape when buried.

Each Earthdrop is an ecosystem, garden in waiting, a genetic archive... A seedbank with curated selection of species that suit specific environments, and with matching germination rates. The heirloom vessels can lay dormant for generations. Add water to activate and bring to life.
