IN BED WITH SPACE

B.Arch THesis

2014

What is architecture in vacuum, devoid of site, program, or users?
Can space exist for space’s sake?

In Bed With Space was awarded an Areen Award for Architecture & Engineering, and the Faculty of Engineering & Architecture’s 2014 Dean’s Award for Creative Achievement, and was nominated on behalf of the American university of Beirut for a RIBA president’s medal in the UK.

Having done site work on the Pigeon Rock–Lebanon’s coastal natural monument–and neighbouring Dalieh site as part of my research, the project was exhibited at the Ministry of Tourism’s Glass Hall during Dalieh Watch Week; a campaign at the centre of a heated political and governmental debate over illegal sales of the public seafront.
